Converting a Virgin Webplayer into a PC
Step 8: Reassembling the Webplayer
Step 9: Enjoy Your New Computer!
Final Thoughts
Overall I'm content with the results of the project and am glad to see
everything worked out as well as it did. There are several issues I
still need to clear up with the unit, one of them involving known USB
problems (it will sometimes lose the internet connection because of
this and the usb must be unplugged/plugged back in). Some others who
have done this project in the past speculate it could be issues with
the supplied power to the unit. I will be looking into this more if it
presents a major problem and hopefully have some answers, as USB is
really the only way of using ethernet on the Webplayer. I've
successfully streamed mp3s on it while surfing without any trouble.
It's a neat little portable machine that now has more use than just
simply web browsing =)

Win98 Micro (lite) - I haven't
verified this vendor, but they appear to be selling lite versions of
the Windows OS. You need this if you don't plan on installing a hard
drive and want to put Windows on the webplayer DOC.
