Programmer Recognition Firefox's Biggest Obstacle

ZDnet reports that Firefox's biggest obstacle right now is "lazy programming." Many applications that corporations depend on are built around Internet Explorer and will simply break with any other browser. As a programmer I can say that my company has recognized Firefox support as an issue for the greater part of this year. While Internet Explorer was widely used by 90-95% of Windows users up until about a year ago, Netscape has steadily been making a comeback with Firefox. Given the amount of spyware that Internet Explorer is susceptible to unless complicated security patches and tweaks are performed on the system, it's easy to see why Firefox has prospered. I think programmers will realize their shortcomings and adapt to user requests, it was just a matter of time.
