Jungle Lord / Williams 7 Driver Board Update
Posted by: AceBHound on Aug 27th, 2010 8:04 PM
Jameco order arrived, so got the TIP102 and 2n4401 replacement transistors for the Jungle Lord pinball driver board. I cleaned up most of the corrosion (mostly affected left side of the board). Used a 50/50 vinegar & water to neutralize the acid, followed by brushing with rubbing alcohol (normal procedure for neutralizing alkaline battery acid). I should have also replaced some of the resistors, but didn't have all the values needed at this time so just cleaned them off as best I could. Put driver board back in Jungle Lord and the solenoid fuse (f2) blew again. So, next I'm going to have to use the logic probe to see if the PIA chip is keeping a coil locked on and/or check a bunch of the coils in the circuit.
